Irish Traditions Atlanta promotes the traditional music, dance, song and language of Ireland!

Irish Traditions Atlanta (ITA) was first established in 1984 as the Atlanta branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ or Comhaltas).  Comhaltas is a non-profit organization that is involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music.  For more information on the global organization see www.comhaltas.ie

Irish Traditions Atlanta has been a force behind the music scene in Atlanta where members host and participate in a number of sessions around the Atlanta area and beyond. ITA is the “go to” organization for  traditional music for events and activities within the community.

ITA membership includes individuals across the Southern Region including Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and Texas.

Since 2009, ITA has awarded annual scholarships to assist exemplary members to attend culturally relevant schools, camps or other educational opportunities, or to attend Fleadh Cheoils (traditional music festivals/competitions) and even Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (the All-Ireland).  In 2012 we awarded the first Community Service award recognizing amazing volunteers of our Branch.

IrishFest Atlanta was launched in 2013 by the organizers of ITA. IrishFest Atlanta, is a growing festival of Irish traditional music, dance, song, language, and other aspects of the culture. Visit www.irishfestatlanta.org for more about the festival.
